Foodbanks

Foodbanks can provide emergency food parcels which will provide nutritious food for your family for at least three days. They can cater to dietary needs such as vegetarian or halal.

Many foodbanks use a voucher referral system –organisations such as Citizen’s Advice or Housing Agencies can refer you to a foodbank or issue you with a voucher.

Most food banks will be able to provide three food parcels to a family within a six-month period. This is because food banks are designed to be a short-term solution. However they may be able to provide more or signpost you to further help in some situations  – speak to your local food bank for more advice
