How to access support services in your ABUHB area

As a parent or carer, if you are concerned about your child’s mental health and wellbeing, you can seek routine advice and support in a number of different ways:

·         you can approach your child’s school who have access to mental health professionals,

·         you can approach your GP or any other professional already involved with you and your family, or

·         you can self-refer directly to S.P.A.C.E Wellbeing - the Single Point of Access for Children’s Emotional (S.P.A.C.E) Wellbeing.

About S.P.A.C.E-Wellbeing

S.P.A.C.E-Wellbeing brings together professionals from the different agencies across the ABUHB area who support children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, so that children and their families get the right help, from the right person, first time. The S.P.A.C.E-Wellbeing process is hosted by ABUHB’s five Local Authority partners (Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen) and enables easy access through a clear ‘request for support’ pathway and joined-up working between the agencies.
